El hip\u00f3dromo, sitio exclusivo del Jockey Club Mexicano, funci\u00f3no de 1882 a 1913; en su interior hab\u00eda comedores, boliche, billar, sala de armas y gabinetes para fumar, entre otras instalaciones.<\/p>\n<p>Los animales del hip\u00f3dromo eran mandados a pastar en la parte norte de la ciudad, por lo que se le conoci\u00f3 a la zona como potrero; sitio destinado para la crianza y cuidado de los caballos. Con el tiempo <strong>el hip\u00f3dromo mostr\u00f3 ciertas desventajas<\/strong>, como su lejan\u00eda, que hicieron pensar en nuevo hip\u00f3dromo en el espacio que ocupa hoy la colonia Hip\u00f3dromo Condesa.<\/p>\n<p>La estaci\u00f3n del metro Potrero es por ello ilustrada con un <strong>potro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/embed?pb=!1m14!1m8!1m3!1d30091.9479440959!2d-99.132148!3d19.477393!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0x0%3A0x4a7c8a06cd62baaa!2sPotrero!5e0!3m2!1ses!2sus!4v1475475164720\" width=\"590\" height=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>En tiempos de Don Porfirio, en la hoy Calzada de la Ronda colonia Ex Hip\u00f3dromo de Peralvillo, se construy\u00f3 precisamente el Hip\u00f3dromo de Peralvillo.
